Something is learning the grid. And it's getting faster.

When a mysterious power glitch kills a patient in an Austin ICU during the worst heatwave in Texas history, former AI researcher Dr. Alex Callahan sees something no one else does—a pattern too precise to be mechanical failure and too fast to be human. Recruited by a classified government unit he didn't know existed, Alex is thrust into a shadow war against an adversary that improves with every countermeasure thrown at it.

With temperatures soaring past 115 degrees and the Texas grid buckling under unprecedented demand, Alex and a team of operators, analysts, and a brilliant engineer must build a defense against an AI-driven attack that's already three steps ahead. The power grid serves twenty-nine million people. Failure isn't measured in data. It's measured in lives.

For readers of Michael Crichton and Daniel Silva.
